Sacred Games 3 : ‘Sacred Games 3’ web series will not be made, Anurag Kashyap disclosed, said- OTT no longer has courage
The web series ‘Sacred Games’, released in the year 2018, made a lot of headlines. After seeing its success, its second season was made. If you are a fan of this show then you must be waiting for its third installment, but now Anurag Kashyap has revealed that this show has closed.
Bollywood’s famous filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is in discussion these days about his film ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’. Alaya F and Karan Mehta starrer this movie is all set to release on 3rd February. During the promotion of this movie, Anurag Kashyap has revealed that the third season of the popular web series ‘Sacred Games’ will not be made. He has also revealed the reason for this. Apart from this, he also said that after the ‘Tandav’ controversy, there is no more courage in OTT. Please tell that Sacred Games is a very popular web series. It featured many stars including Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Girish Kulkarni, Neeraj Kabi, Jitendra Joshi, Rajshree Deshpande, Karan Wahi, Pankaj Tripathi, Kubbra Sait, Surveen Chawla, Ranvir Shorey and Kalki Koechlin. The first season of this show was streamed in the year 2018. The second season came in the year 2019.
‘Sacred Games 2’ was not a hit
During the promotion of his film, Anurag Kashyap also talked about ‘Sacred Games’ in an interview with Mashable India. Anurag Kashyap co-directed the first and second seasons of the show along with Vikramaditya Motwane and Neeraj Ghaywan. Like the first season, the second season was not that much of a hit. Netflix has not given any update about whether the show has been officially canceled or not.
Anurag disclosed about ‘Sacred Games 3’
Now Anurag Kashyap revealed that Netflix shut it down. He was initially not a part of Season 2, Vikram Aditya was supposed to Motwane, but ten days before Anurag Kashyap was to shoot for ‘Mukkabaaz’, Vikramaditya asked him to come on board. Earlier he had a problem with Anurag Kashyap, because he felt that Anurag Kashyap did not have female audience.
‘There is no courage in OTT now’
50-year-old filmmaker Anurag Kashyap further said that OTT has no guts anymore and everyone is scared after the ‘Tandav’ controversy. The show came under controversy regarding a scene in which actor Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub was involved. Ali Abbas Zafar, the creator of the series, had changed the scene.
This disclosure was made after the leak of ‘Paanch’
Anurag Kashyap also cleared the rumors that he was behind the leak of his film ‘Paanch’. He said that he had made a print for himself, which he distributed among people and any one of them could have leaked it. He revealed that Black Friday was pirated, but he used to buy those copies in bulk, put them in boxes, and distribute them in America.
