I am a married man. I have been working in the army for a long time. I have dedicated my whole life for the security of my country. That’s because when I was 6 years old, my father started training me to be active and strong. He wanted me to serve Mother India like him.

Actually, my father has been an army officer. Because of him, strong values ​​like commitment-courage and continuity have been inculcated in me. This is also one of the reasons why I directly joined the army after passing the exam. I have followed a strictly disciplined routine throughout my life. However, at one point it became too suffocating for me. But I had no other option but to follow in my father’s footsteps. Yes, the one thing that always kept me close during this time was my childhood friend Shreya.

I met Shreya for the first time when we were both in high school. She is a very beautiful girl. He did everything he could to hold me when I was feeling all alone, having lost everything in my life. He helped me become the man I am today. However, we both are completely different from each other. This is because I am very much a person living in myself or rather introvert type while Shreya loves to meet people.

I love this habit of her that she makes everyone her own in a moment. So when I told my parents about our relationship, they happily agreed to our marriage and very soon we got married.

After 2 weeks of starting our married life, I was posted in Silchar city. However, I wanted to enjoy my marriage. I wanted to spend time with Shreya. I also wanted to enjoy my happiness, but due to my duty I had to give up all these things.

Maybe it was also because I didn’t want to disappoint my father. The very next day I packed my things and left for Assam. Days, weeks and months passed since I was posted in Silchar. Shreya kept calling me to meet. But I could not get a single chance to meet him. Instead of calling, I started writing him letters like old times. Although, we used to talk on video calls, but even after that I continued to write him letters. Yes, that thing is different that he never got a reply on the letters I sent. But still I loved him very much.

It was almost a year and a half since I last met Naina. The pain of being away from him used to haunt me every moment. I yearned to go back to him. However, after one and half year and 2 months I got a chance to go back home for 2 weeks. I was very happy. Shreya was waiting for me with a smile on her face. I felt very relieved to see him.

The first couple of days with him were completely blissful. But after a day or two I noticed that he is very upset.She seemed a little different to me. Although, I could not understand her problem, but it is also true that I did not want to waste my happy time thinking about the sad moments. So I did everything I could to make her happy.

After meeting Naina, I returned to posting again for 8 months. Due to work, my letters with Shreya became less and less. We didn’t talk much even on video calls anymore. So, when I went back home the second time, I made it a point to talk to her. However, this time I planned to surprise her. I didn’t tell him that I was coming home. I was overjoyed to imagine the happiness on her face.

I put my bag in a corner and walked towards the bedroom with a bouquet of flowers in my hand. Opening the bedroom door, I saw that Shreya was with a boy. Both of them were making relation.

On seeing them the bouquet fell from my hand to the floor. I made noise and scared them both. Shreya was shocked to see me. I proceeded back towards the main gate but Shreya shouted ‘I’m sorry.’ His betrayal hurt me so badly that I completely refused to talk to him. I took a room in a hotel. After that his endless calls bothered me. But I was crying badly. My wife whom I loved with all my heart was cheating on me.

After several calls, I took his call. She said crying that after I left she was completely alone. His loneliness prompted him to cheat on me. She was begging for forgiveness in front of me. I accepted his words but I am not able to forgive him from my heart.
